Question Of The Week: What’s The Lamest, Most Boring Box Art?

A few weeks ago we asked what’s the most intriguing box art, but this time round we want to know something quite the opposite. Obviously we liked everyone’s opinion on the previous question, and we’ll all opinions here too, so don’t be shy.

This being said, we’d like to know: What’s the lamest, most boring box art? And why?

    @Emile Muller : Dude, the Orange Box has to be one of the most artistically gorgeous covers that I’ve ever seen. No jokes.

    Anyway, personally, I’d say this one. The Guitar Hero 5 cover. Though I love the game, I just can’t stand the cover. It says nothing about the game, and instead just has random band names on the cover (where that should be at the back) to catch people’s intentions instead. It came across as cocky and complacent, as if its developers knew it would sell well and so didn’t bother with artwork or anything of that sort.
    It sold well.

    Well pretty much any golf game out there besides the cool ones like Hot Shot Golf.

    This isnt really relavent anymore since the covers nodays come with a plastic covering. But those old school covers that didnt have the plastic on and then the champion decided to put some massive tag on the cover, he could of atleast placed it on the back of the box. Hence, the lamest box art out there has to be one that features the pricetag/sale sign. I mean you couldnt peal it off without tearing the cover and the pricetag just became part of your box art.

      OH I soooooo want to play the new mortal Kombat. Special since it’s back to it’s Old School 2D Roots and will be 9 kinds of Awsome. Thats 2 kinds more than Brawndo: the thirst mutalator’s adverts.

    I think pretty much any harry potter game art. They all feature that stupid Daniel Radcliff on the cover. Such a fail /facepalm.

      Lol agreed. But it is based on the movies and the movies are based on the books so not much else they could do with it I suppose.

    Is it just me, or does anyone else think they should have used any of the other characters from this game, except the generic brown tower-guy?

      I liked that boxart made me want to try the game out. Thought it would be Bg guy, smash stuff game. I was wrong…horrably wrong.

    The box art was pretty much just the standard blizzard fare, very much like the warcraft series covers, just the face of the main character and the title. Didn’t inspire me.

    I’ll have to agree with CaViE. Guitar Hero has the most boring box art i’ve seen in a long time.
