Interested In Credit Card Information? You Can Buy The PSN Credit Card List
Hackers responsible for the PSN breach are trying to sell off the stolen credit card numbers which include CC security numbers and expiry dates. There is also speculation that the hackers obtained unencrypted databases which include names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, email passwords, date of births and the aforementioned credit card details with all other security codes needed.
Sony previously claimed that this isn’t possible as they do not save CVC or CSC numbers on their servers.
Apparently 2.2million accounts were hacked, where 150,000 of those accounts are from German users, which mean that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) was also affected by the breach.
Reports state that Sony was offered the chance to buy back the credit card information, at a figure around $100,000. However, Sony has ignored these requests. Furthermore, it was said that Sony has not, and will not, confirm these claims.
”To my knowledge there is no truth to the report that Sony was offered an opportunity to purchase the list,” said SCEA PR boss Patrick Seybold.
“The entire credit card table was encrypted and we have no evidence that credit card data was taken.”
