007 GoldenEye: Reloaded Exploding Onto Xbox 360 and PS3, Trailer Inside

Last year, the Nintendo 64 classic, 007 GoldenEye, was re-released of the Wii and earned a few very good reviews. With no sight of a new James Bond movie, Activision has become impatient and decided to release GoldenEye on Xbox 360 and PS3, though they are going all out for this re-release.

Reloaded, like the Wii remake of last year, re-tells the events of the 1990s GoldenEye film, re-casting current Bond Daniel Craig in place of Pierce Brosman. Some levels pay homage to the first game, but this is no level-by-level remake, not in single-player or multiplayer.

The game will feature an entire new engine, bringing a full HD remake to life. Developers have also promised that the game will run at 60 frames per second and will support the PlayStation Move Sharpshooter gun controller for immersive play, similar to the Wii version of the game. The game will also feature some exclusive bonus content, detailed in the press release below:

“Additional to the legendary story campaign, the game introduces the brand new ‘Mi6 Ops Missions’ – new, distinct levels separate from the campaign that span the varied environments from the story and challenge players to complete different Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded also takes multiplayer to new heights, maintaining and improving its renowned four-player split-screen action and adding full, adrenaline-pumping 16-player online matches with more maps, weapons, characters and game modes than ever before.”

The main draw for GoldenEye is the way it allows players to approach the mission. You could decide to just burst in guns blazing, mowing down anything and everything that stands in your way, or you could approach a mission in true Bond style, sniping security cameras, baffling enemy soldiers with nifty gadgets and keeping the body count as low as a suave agent should.

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded will be out in Q4 this year, releasing next to a host of other eagerly awaited FPS’s. Good luck, James.
