Super Monday Night Combat Will Draw From DOTA

We all love DOTA. Well, most people anyway. The same goes for third-person shooters. So, what would happen if these two met at a bar and had some sort of mutated love child? Super Monday Night Combat would be that baby.

Super Monday Night Combat is the free-to-play PC-only sequel to last years Monday Night Comabt, which was released on Xbox 360 and PC. Monday Night Combat was massively entertaining, and drew from elements that can be seen in Team Fortress 2, though there were enough unique features to set them far apart. Super Monday Night Combat, however, will draw elements from the famous Warcraft 3 mod, DOTA, as well as DOTA 2, blending third-person shooting with MOBA style gameplay.

You will be able to get a taste of this in the video above, as well as some more facetime with SMNC’s new characters, Combatgirl, Gunsinger and the Veteran. It’s looking highly interesting, and although many will undoubtedly call it yet another DOTA clone, I think the fact that you don’t “click to win” will set it apart, and perhaps even kick start a new type of online game.
