Resistance 3 DLC Already Announced And Kevin Butler Straddles A Horse
Good news for all those who have been hating on developers for bringing out DLC post-release, especially when it could just as easily have been added to the boxed game. Barely a day after Resistance 3 released in the US and several days before it even hits shelves elsewhere, Insomniac has announced the first bit of DLC for the game.
Usually DLC consists of content which needed to be cut from the game so that it make release, however, it could also be in the form of extra content which just doesn’t fit the storyline. Then, there’s the chance that the developers thought that you’d might like that little extra bit of content, and then, welcome DLC. While these are the common reasons behind DLC, it seems Resistance 3 is a lot different. Their DLC doesn’t fit any of those categories.
Instead, it appears to be something which could very easily have been included in the boxed game but wasn’t just for the sake of milking players just a little bit more.
The Resistance 3 Survival add-on pack will feature a new multiplayer Invasion mode “which challenges humans and Chimera to capture and hold multiple control points for as long as possible” and includes multiplayer skins along with a static XMB theme.
Available on October 4 the pack will cost $3.99 (R28.64).
Despite this seemingly obvious milking, Resistance 3 has been positively received hitting a score of 83 on Metacritic. Read our preview of the game for a closer look and keep an eye out for our Resistance 3 review.
Oh and about that Kevin Butler thing: watch as he talks up Resistance 3 and the PS Move Sharpshooter peripheral while astride a horse in a new TV ad for the game.
