Does This Guy Have The Best Job In The World?
Oftentimes you may have gazed over at the cover of your copy of Battlefield 3 (Alessandro just arranges his dozen or so copies like some sort of mosaic wall art) and thought, “That guy must be the ultimate boss, just awesome in every way.”
Well, Dennis Lennartsson is that sombre-faced soldier cover-star and life seems pretty good for him from where I’m standing. Lennartson is a motion-capture actor who was chosen by DICE to star on the cover of Battlefield 3. It seems pretty gruelling though as he had to wear around 35kg of gear for the shoot where in excess of 500 images were captured. During motion capture though, he was significantly less weighed down. In fact, Lennartsson recounted to NA.se how he was sitting in his underwear with motion capture balls all over his body and face and just saw himself appear on a monitor in full combat gear.
That said, it would seem that he was paid handsomely for his troubles, although he wouldn’t give specifics. His fees were in fact substantial enough for him to continue his non-profit work in Sweden. As a former military cop, Lennartsson is co-founder of a sign-language teaching centre in his home country.
I would say that impression you get from Lennartsson’s likeness on the Battlefield 3 cover is not too dissimilar from his reality.
