It’s The End, But Not For Long
As we sit quietly finishing off the trifle from Christmas, we seem to reminisce of what 2011 was. And still is. If 2011 was a poor year, there’s always the 31st to mend any problem you have. And there’s always until the 31st to achieve any goal you had. Optimistic, however still possible.
From an eGamer perspective — which this article should be seen in — 2011 was a great year. It was off to an atrociously slow start where we seemingly made endless errors with timing and commitment during the first quarter. After that, however, we somehow acquired great staff who helped bring the site to where it is today.
If you followed us in 2010, you would have noticed a great amount of new names appear in 2011. It must be said that without these names, we would have never been able to complete the year in the style that we did. Not like it was stylish, anyway.
For 2012, we’d like to retain the names on the site with a couple of additions to replace those that had to leave. It’s unfortunate, but life obligations sometimes trump those obligations which are done out of free will in free time. Notice, there’s a lot of free.
To the old, and no-longer-around staff: Your help to carry the site from 2009 has been tremendous. Without you, we’d be no where. Thank you very much.
To all the new staff: I extend a giant thank-you. The list of what you have done is too long to mention.
As for next year, we have plans. While we’re yet to decide on the final goals for the opening period, there are a few things we will carry over. We neglected to end the year in style with awesome competitions, so we’ll do it next year instead. And do believe, they will be worth your time.
Features will be more regular and recurring articles will be revamped. We’re going to try and move into our own little world, and we really hope that you join us.
As usual, our email addresses are available for you to contact us. We have Gtalk on these addresses, so feel free to add us too. Facebook is great, and so is Twitter — if you’re into those platforms.
To the readers and frequent commenters: thank you for the brilliant help. You were the ones who kept us going. Your wise words and wit when trolling kept us laughing. There were countless evenings where we met and laughed about comments which some of you left.
It’s the end of 2011, but it won’t be the end for too long. We will be back on the 5th of January, 2012. We hope to see you there.
