Hold Onto Your Mass Effect 3 Saves — BioWare Dev
Ask any gamer. Any real gamer.
Wait, why does that sound like Dominic Toretto from The Fast & The Furious.
Ask any gamer if they would willingly let go of their saves for a game and watch their reaction as they attempt to contemplate the action of deleting something so precious, even when the saves themselves hold little value moving forward.
Gamers will have entire hard drives filled with game saves and not much else.
Along came BioWare with their games that actually gave storing saves a purpose and asked gamers to import saves into their sequels in order to “continue the story” with various tie-ins affecting sequels depending on the imported save.
Never was this more apparent than with the second Mass Effect title, which made you feel like you were actually playing a role in a game, thanks to that save-importing system.
With the upcoming threequel, it would seem as though a bunch of saves that have survived through two prior titles and one more would go to waste after such a long lifespan, much to the dismay of many.
But BioWare aren’t so sure about that.
Mike Gamble has said that players should probably hold onto their Mass Effect 3 saves upon completing the game because you never know what may happen in future.
“Obviously I can’t say anything, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea.”
I’ll have that.
BioWare have of course previously stated that the future of the Mass Effect series beyond Mass Effect 3 is still to be decided but they are not short on ideas.
We already know that the trilogy only really follows Shepard anyway, so there isn’t really anything to stop, say, a Mass Effect spin-off with Garrus as the main character. Did I just make your day?
