iPad 3 Event Confirmed For March 7th

Following a ton of speculation and “trusted sources” leaks, Apple themselves have confirmed that they will be hosting an event of March 7th, and the iPad 3 will be top of the agenda.

Rumours have suggested that the new device will feature a 2048×1536 resolution Retina Display and a quad-core A6 processor. Having this processor would put the iPad 3 on par with the likes of the PS Vita and 3DS, meaning that gaming could really shine on Apple’s new device. With that type of processing power, developers could create much more graphically intense games for us to enjoy on our tablets, granted you have enough to afford a new one already.

The Retina Display, a crisp resolution enhancement that has made appearances on the iPod Touch, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S, could make high-definition iPad games look even better. Expect a release date and pricing to be available soon.

    I think iPads are quite affordable as tablets go. They’re cheaper than the galaxy, xoom, flyer and many other android equivalents. Android tablets at the moment are unfortunately a joke. I can’t wait to see what apple has in store for iPad 3 (and this is coming from an android fan)

    leaks were happening about 2 weeks ago. I thought everyone knew already.. plus, most of us don’t have an ipad one yet.. why do they keep pumping out new stuff?

      Yeah we reported on the leaks, but this time it was Apple that confirmed the event was actually taking place :P
