One Level Of BioShock: Infinite Will Have Three Times More Dialogue Than All Of BioShock

One Level Of BioShock: Infinite Will Have Three Times More Dialogue Than All Of BioShock

Ken Levine has impressed, and surprised himself, with the amount of writing that is needed for BioShock: Infinite. According to the creator, there’s about three or four times the amount of writing and character interaction in one level of Infinite, when compared to BioShock 1.

In a discussion with Eurogamer, Ken Levine stated that he didn’t consider the amount of writing it would take to get Booker and Elizabeth to talk to each other.

“When I first came up with these characters Booker and Elizabeth talking to each other and interacting with their world, I didn’t consider how much writing that was going to be,” he admitted.

“Just one level of BioShock Infinite writing and the amount of character interaction we have is probably three or four times as much writing as in all of BioShock 1.

“I’m doing the vast bulk of it and it really is… it can get overwhelming,” he added. “But on the other hand it’s a world that I absolutely love to write. Mostly because it’s a new challenge. Thinking how these scenes are going to play out, how we keep them interactive and how you communicate the ideas.”

BioShock: Infinite is a greatly anticipated game for 2012. Everyone is thoroughly excited to see what it will include, and by Levine telling us that there’s three times more writing; one can only be excited.

BioShock: Infinite is scheduled to release on 19 October for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

I skip it, if its mission dialogue.. Except in ME3 I actually listen to it.

It takes to long, need to kill shit/get loot

Nothing but compliments for this game :)

This game keeps sounding more layered and awesome. I really hope this lends itself to a much deeper handling of the subplots and themes that are going on in the game.

3-4 times more dialogue/interaction in one level than the entire Bioshock 1? Not the type of news I was hoping for but at least it shows the quality and work put into this game. Can’t wait to try it out later in the year.
