Say Hello To The GTX 680 — The New Kepler On The Block
I’ve actually been surprised how long it’s been since Nvidia has released a brand new flagship GPU. In fact, one of my very first articles for eGamer last year was on the GTX 590, which released at around the same time as Nvidia’s latest graphical powerhouse. Introducing the GTX 680, a revolution in PC gaming.
Ever since the GTX 460, Nvidia has been basing their fantastic cards on their trademarked Fermi technology, which brought gamers fantastic DirectX 11 features such as tessellation. Well, the GTX 680 is bringing forward the future, and its name is Kepler. Based on this new chip technology, and its ample processing power, the GTX 680 can handle ultra HD or 4K resolutions in games and video, extending visual finesse and quality beyond current standards.
The new ASUS GTX 680 graphics card offers powerful and efficient 28nm GPU technology based on NVIDIA’s “Kepler” platform. Ready for next generation 4K gaming and multimedia with 1536 CUDA cores, it features NVIDIA® GPU Boost instant core frequency modulation between 1006MHz and 1058MHz. Exclusive ASUS GPU Tweak further improves overclocking and overvolting with its intuitive interface, giving gamers real-time access to hardware resources. NVIDIA® Adaptive Vertical Sync intelligently manages vsync in games for smoother performance, while enhanced single-GPU NVIDIA® 3D Vision® stereoscopic visuals are achieved in hundreds of games.
