Bethesda Reveals Kinect Support, DLC Plans For Xbox 360

Bethesda has finally broken their long bout of silence regarding Skyrim related post-release content by announcing that official Kinect support would be coming to The Elder Scrolls for the first time.

Also, something about DLC…

“Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft,” said a press release from the company.

“This additional content will add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim. Stay tuned, we hope to officially announce what it is soon.”

That’s the first official words we’ve heard since February, when Todd Howard hinted at potential DLC and of course in December when he said that future DLC would focus on “ways to make the game better, not just have more, because the game is so big”.

As for Kinect support, the trailer above should answer any questions regarding that but there’s also some details to go on as well.

First and foremost, Kinect support will be available for free as a title update planned for release this month. It will introduce more than 200 voice commands including Dragon Shouts, Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menus (Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favourites, and Skills).

You will also be able to create and load saves during gameplay, navigate the world map using special functions and sort inventory items by name, weight and value.

I would so program the Kinect module to use the Fus-Ro-Dah shout each time I yelled out: “This is Sparta!”

Looking forward to it?
