Bethesda’s Dishonored Will Make You Happy Inside

Bethesda has released a trailer revealing Dishonored, a brand new first person action-RPG.

It is being developed by Arkane Studios, the guys who brought us Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah Might And Magic, and also contributed to the design of BioShock 2.

The game is set in a Steampunk city and follows a disgraced assassin named Corvo as he tries to clear his name after being framed for murder.

I know I enjoyed it, and it left me smiling for quite a while afterwards.

I have much faith in Arkane Studios after enjoying Dark Messiah Might And Magic far more than most others did and with Bethesda’s guidance they might just have the backing to release something amazing.

One thing’s for sure; we’re all most definitely looking forward to finding out more.

      Cavie was too busy getting 100% achievemnt on Green lantern, this isn’t the first we’ve heard of the game. Cavie would make an epic clown though…

      You forgot edge, or mirror in there somewhere.

      But yeah dude, when I was trying to describe it to my mate it was something along the lines of “Assassins creed meets Singularity meets Mirror’s edge meets Dark messiah”

      I really hope it lives up to the hype and doesn’t land up something like Brink did, poor and disappointing

       Well, Thief covers the first-person aspect while Assassin’s Creed covers the rooftop running aspect – Mirror’s Edge would kind of be odd to put in there given the sanitized aesthetic of that game’s visuals and the wholly ‘real-world’ theme, while all the other games involved have under/over-lying aspects that can be derived from for this.

      Bioshock for the hand powers in general
      Thief for the ‘victorian’ theme of the setting and stealth aspects (not to mention a touch of steampunk)
      Dark Messiah for the dark magic aspect
      Assassin’s Creed for the rooftop-running and assassination aspects
      Singularity for the time powers
      And last, but not least, Half-Life for contributing to the aesthetics behind the steampunk aspects.

      With so much awesomeness all packed into one package, do you really think there’s still room left over for Mirror’s Edge? :p

    It’s a first-person open world Neo-Victorian action adventure stealth action video game :D!?!?!?!?

       Rest assured it’s coming to PC, Bethesda loves PC too much. Check the wikipedia page if you don’t believe me, which you shouldn’t.

    I loved this game when all that existed were some screenshots and descriptions and I adore it absolutely now that I’ve seen it. It’s effectively like Assassin’s Creed except first person. It will have a mostly open-world environment but with linear progression and a multitude of ways to approach missions. It’s also borrowing from BioShock with a few powers.
