BioWare Has No Further Mass Effect 3 Ending DLC Planned
So BioWare finally caved and announced that it will be releasing the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC which won’t so much change the ending as it will provide the closure and answers that many have been seeking. It will also be completely free which is nice but BioWare claims that this is it and that there will no further DLC to amend or append the ending.
A FAQ posted ate the time of the DLC announcement was released to clear up any uncertainties surrounding this. ”Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3,” BioWare said.
“The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard’s story.”
Additionally, BioWare said it “strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise.”
At least BioWare is finally taking a somewhat firm stance on this or at least until a group of disgruntled fans whine about how the extended cut didn’t do enough for them and nag for an even more appended ending. I guess I’m just a bit cynical after this whole debacle.
