Dragon’s Dogma Gets A Gameplay Trailer

A brand new trailer has just released for the adventure RPG that everyone is calling Japan’s answer to Skyrim.

Dragon’s Dogma is an interesting game, certainly, but whether it lives up to its billing is up for debate.

That said, here’s a gameplay trailer that has players taking on the Cockatrice — basically a mutant chicken that doesn’t want to end up as a KFC meal, or something.

The trailer comes fresh off the confirmation of a demo headed to PSN and XBLA next week.

Looking forward to trying it out?

i would if I had a console. But personally I don’t think this is comparable to skyrim. Sure their both RPG’s but it’s obvious they’ve put a lot of effort into the combat systems, where in skyrim not a single fuck was givin’. My point is they look waaay too different to compare. I’d say something that is worth comparing it to is Reckoning.

Actually, I’d say this has far more innovative ideas than Skyrim. Firstly, night is actually night. This means its dark as shit, things are way more dangerous, and the importance of finding shelter is stressed. In Skyrim, you had a magical starry sky that lit everything around you. Also, the combat is looking WAY tighter than Skyrim’s, which isn’t really hard to do anyway :P This is just a few of the ideas they are popping in, along with customisable party members that all serve specfic roles in the party, such as a tank, healer, ranged etc.
