Rumour: Wii U Release Date Leaked By Japanese Retailer
Rumour has it that Nintendo will release the Wii U console in November, this year. The news comes from an internal email which was leaked by a popular videogame retailer in Tokyo.
The memo was allegedly circulated amongst staff at the “Media Land” store before WiiUDaily found the email. According to WiiUDaily, the report states that the North American launch will occur on Sunday, November 18, 2012. One week after that, the device will launch in Japan.
There was no detail on when the Wii U would release in South Africa, or in Europe. Our region is still in the dark.
To clarify: the date could be a target date, or it could be the confirmed date. There’s no word on whether or not Nintendo has committed to the date.
Nintendo originally released the Wii on November 19, 2006 — which was a Sunday. Therefore, the 18th release date could be true. Nintendo has already said that the device would release before the end of 2012, in all regions.
Furthermore, previous reports from anonymous sources within the development of the Wii U stated that the graphical capabilities of the device is less than that of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
