Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed III Will Deliver “Serious Resolutions” In Desmond’s Story

According to Ubisoft Montreal, Assassin’s Creed III will breathe new life into the widely considered lifeless series protagonist that is Desmond Miles.

The game will put Desmond into a completely new modern day location, where he will face “big events” in order to provide “serious resolutions” to his story.

Assassin’s Creed III’s creative director Alexander Hutchison recently had a chat with NowGamer, who asked him how Ubisoft Montreal plans to approach fan concerns regarding Desmond’s character. Or lack thereof.

Hutchison answered, “Assassin’s Creed 3 begins directly after Assassin’s Creed Revelations, with Desmond waking up and arriving at a brand new present day location. We’re not talking about it in detail yet but we promise some serious resolutions in Desmond’s storyline and some big events.”

“Our goal with Desmond is to resolve a big chunk of the dangling threads in Assassin’s Creed 3 and to provide some sense of closure to people who’ve been with us from the start. I have been banned by PR from saying anything else, but stay tuned.”

It’s really difficult to expect much with Desmond considering the Assassin’s Creed franchise has dished out four games so far and he still barely even has a character.

But I guess we’ll find out if it’s possible to hate him more when the game releases on October 31.

LOL lets hope their promises dont backfire. I think we have waited long enough for an improvement on the AC series and i`m hoping this game will blow us away.

PS. Lets hope his comments are true because we dont need another Petition with Cup Cakes

“Desmond is actually an android with embedded memories or he suffers from the same ailment that the guy in Lucky Number Sleven had where you’re kind of apathetic and emotionless.”

That would resolve his story pretty well for me. Seriously though, I still get the feeling that Desmond is on the side with Connor in the spotlight and keep thinking to myself how they are going to answer all those questions in the snippets where we see Desmond? Unless Connor’s narrative interweaves with his and answers some of the questions we’ve had.

That’s what they said about Revelations, not regarding Desmond, but the “resolution” (aka Revelation) part, and I was still left with questions. The Ubisoft promise is a lie.
