UEFA Euro 2012 Trailer Sports Expedition Mode

Sticking to the football theme for this Friday afternoon, we now have a trailer for UEFA Euro 2012 from EA Sports.

This one shows off the upcoming expansion’s new Expedition Mode, which I first misread as Exhibition.

“The all-new Expedition Mode designed exclusively for UEFA EURO 2012 enables fans to build, manage and compete with a customised team against other European nations, crafting the perfect strategy for European domination,” says publisher Electronic Arts.

“Fans will choose their favourite European player or FIFA 12 Virtual Pro to captain their customised team, win matches to earn better players from defeated nations, and then defeat the best nations to earn the best players in a campaign quest to defeat all 53 countries and complete the journey to conquer Europe.”

Regular football fans will probably give this one a skip but we’re sure there’s loads of hardcore fanatics who will run over to their local gaming stores to get their hands on this one once it’s out.

The last FIFA expansion title I played was the World Cup 2002 title that released just before that world cup and to me, was an amazing game that introduced a lot of elements that would become staples in follow-up full-on FIFA titles. Such things as applying curve to a shot on goal and showing effects for players with high stats, such as a blur effect when a player with a maxed out Speed stat starts to sprint.
