Bethesda Confirms The Elder Scrolls Online
Remember that time when we told you about an Elder Scrolls MMO? Of course you do. Well, Bethesda has made it official.
The Elder Scrolls Online is currently in development at ZeniMax Online Studios and will be the first game in the series to allow gamers to explore the rich and vibrant world of Tamriel with other players.
Currently set for a 2013 release, Mayans willing, the game is being developed for PC and Ma under game director and industry veteran Matt Firor, who has spent a solid few decades in online game development, with previous works including Mythic’s Dark Age of Camelot.
“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” he said.
“It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
According to reports thus far, the game will be “set a millenium before the events of Skyrim as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm.”
Firor added: “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
The game will be available in English, German and French upon release.
So, obvious question time: Is this something you would play?
