CD Projekt’s New Game Is Called Cyberpunk

No surprises there considering the very cyberpunk vibe you get from the artwork released yesterday but you’ll be mighty amazed when you hear where they got the concept from. CD Projekt’s new RPG is based on a pen-&-paper role-playing system called (you guessed it) Cyberpunk.

The game is being developed by a second team made up of Witcher vets and will put focus on allowing players to create their own characters to navigate a decadent futuristic world complete with super high-tech and the kind of moral ambiguity you’d expect from the people who made The Witcher 2. That’s all we’ve got for now but here’s the official description:

Players will experience the world through their own, unique characters chosen from different classes – be they blood-thirsty mercenaries or cunning hackers – that they will equip with vast selection of cybernetic implants and deadly weapons. As in the Witcher series, players will face morally ambiguous choices, their actions influencing events in the world at large and the fate of the individuals they encounter.

Well we know that these guys do deliver when it comes to mature storylines and decisions that impact your narrative in a meaningful way, so I’m extremely excited :D

Didn’t enjoy the original Witcher too much (the pace was just too slow for my liking and I ended up giving up after 10 hours :/), but this sounds pretty awesome.

Have you played the sequel? It’s much better :-)

Not yet, but I’ve been looking forward to jamming it since reading how well it was received by you guyz at the end of last year.

The Witcher 2 was ten times better :) I also wasn’t that excited or in love with the original game, but trust me, its sequel is awesome if you’ve got a nice PC or Xbox :)
