Dishonored Is All Over In 12 Hours
Your typical game clocks in at under 10 hours but we did somehow expect Arkane Studios’ Dishonored to be a bit different but then it is a largely linear game so 12 hours isn’t too bad I guess.
Dishonored is looking very impressive and I can’t wait to get my hands on it but co-creative directors Harvey Smith and Raphael Colantonio recently said in a Q&A on the Bethesda blog, ”very direct players will probably get through the game in 12 or 14 hours.”
Mercifully, Smith and Colantonio revealed that this was only realistic if you blitz through the game and did only story missions. If you’re a normal human being and enjoy exploration and the odd side missions then you’re in luck. They said that “explorers who eavesdrop a lot will take twice as long [to complete Dishonored].”
The blog post also details some minor details such as the mana system. A small amount of the player’s health will be restored to use Blink and Dark Vision powers but you’ll need to get your hands on some Piero’s Spiritual Remedy to perform major spells.
The pair also revealed that there are six major active powers “plus there are 40 bone charms in the game that grant small supernatural perks. But no one can have all of these things in one playthrough.”
Can you wait for this game? I can’t.
