eGamer’s Best Of E3 2012: Best Graphics
We all love pretty games, and they were there in abundance at this year’s E3, with our young minds constantly getting blown by a handful of the game demonstrations we saw. It was extremely difficult to pick out which was the best game visually, so I think each of us resorted to our own opinions regarding which game amazed the most, and which game was the most attractive with its visual design.
Take a look at what we had to say down below.
Dean had a few amazeball-worthy choices:
Star Wars 1313 looks stunning. As does Watch Dogs. However, these are rumoured to be next-gen titles. The Last Of Us looks amazing, with flowing and adaptive gameplay which changes depending on various circumstances. It’s current-gen too, so we should consider that. Far Cry looks very appealing too, with a graphical style that doesn’t try to look too real. Instead, it looks visually rich and colourful.
So did Azhar, with his favourite being Far Cry 3:
It’s easy to say which games looked incredible, but for me while Star Wars 1313 was mind-blowing graphically, the demo itself wasn’t all that interesting and neither were the environments. Watchdogs was also extraordinary especially since its an open world game, and I’m hoping that it can retain that visual quality and not dumb down due to an over-promising E3 demo. Far Cry 3 was my favourite, as it was visually exciting, dynamic, colourful, vibrant and just simply gorgeous. Can’t wait to play it on PC.
Alessandro got a bit jelly when I tried to tell him Star Wars 1313 was current-gen:
Although the gameplay shown off was rather weak, there’s no denying that Star Wars 1313 was utterly gorgeous. It’s next-gen visuals for sure, that I can honestly say. I don’t care what anyone else thinks.
As usual, Caveshen tried to think hard about it:
Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313 both boasted amazing visuals that had some questioning whether they were actually for our current generation, but for me Dishonored looked far more splendid and unique with its visual style that might last the test of time, especially in a field so easily outdated as graphics.
Abdul-Gaffoor favoured Watchdogs:
Probably Star Wars 1313 but it seemed more like a tech demo seeing as they didn’t even have the actual protagonist in that gameplay video so I’m going with Watch Dogs. It looked spectacular especially with the little details such as the glass from the windscreen and so on being done so beautifully.
Adam was another who found it hard to believe Star Wars 1313 is current-gen:
Well, to put it mildly Star Wars 1313 was visually stunning and showed a calibre of visual design, art direction that amazed me. It was truly a next-gen experience.
It was hard not to be impressed by the graphics of many of the games shown at E3, and let’s hope that they stick around for the final products, with emphasis on Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313.
