Match The Song To A Game — A Club Of Shadows
If you’ve ever listened to one of our podcasts you’d know that we take every opportunity we can get to not talk about games which is odd because those podcasts were started so that readers could hear us converse about games. Weird, right? But then I guess that’s what spawned this whole business of matching a song to a game.
It’s my first time doing this sort of thing because Dean is incapacitated with acute awesomeness which is apparently a symptom of that herpes he recently contracted and Alessandro is likely still celebrating Portugal’s Euro 2012 win against the Danes because he is the world’s biggest Ronaldo fan.
So this week we’re putting the focus back on local music with Shadowclub which is quite possibly my favourite South African band at the moment. I’m not going to go into great detail because I sound like an idiot when I start getting descriptive with music but they just have this classic rock ‘n roll sound to them and you can’t help but like their music. I discovered the band a few months ago and can’t get enough of some of their songs. I believe they won a SAMA or two which is supposed to be a big deal around here and you’ve likely heard some of their songs on the radio so at least some of you should be familiar with them.
Today’s choice piece is their single Guns & Money which when you look at it could be a great anthem for any dictatorship or the US government or EA or Activision but I digress. So here’s the song, give it a listen and tell us what game you think it fits in with.
