New Gameplay Trailer Shows That This Is The Tomb Raider We’ve Been Waiting For

I’ve been saying it for a long time now. The Tomb Raider reboot is (or was) my most anticipated title of this year. This is, of course, until it was delayed to an early release next year. March 5th to be exact, according to this new gameplay trailer.

Again, it’s a darker, grittier Lara Croft than we’ve come to expect, and it has all the makings of a perfect reboot. The action seems to be highly cinematic, so the only thing I’m worried about now is the over use of scripted events. If developers Crystal Dynamics steer like of a quick-time event every 5 minutes, then we should be safe.

Also, “I really don’t like tombs.” Oh Lara, you make me laugh.

    By the end of this trailer this little cutie should’ve got atleast all her ribs broken !! Terrific action..!! i said i wont play Lara Croft before.. I’ve changed my mind.. Mar 5,2013.. Lara shall be mine..!

    I quite enjoyed Legend and Underworld, but I understand their reasons for rebooting the series. I know that Uncharted took a lot of inspiration from Tomb Raider so this might sound silly but… actually I don’t think it’d be such a bad thing if this game borrowed from some of Naughty Dog’s puzzle and platforming areas.

    Crystal Dynamics does seem to have their heads screwed on right, as compared to Core.

      That’s what I said was funny Cavie. Uncharted 1 initially took inspiration from Tomb Raider, and now Tomb Raider looks like it’s taking inspiration from Uncharted’s crazy set pieces. Quite circular :P Hopefully the end product is good.

    The game looks pretty awesome, definitely want to get it. The only thing I don’t like is her voice or more specifically the may she screams and moans.
    It looks a little like Uncharted and I am Alive.

    Not sure if I’m ready to call this my most anticipated, definitely not with Hitman Absolution on the horizon and BioShock Infinite also being delayed to q1 2013 but my curiosity has been peaked.
