New Metal Gear Rising Trailer Isn’t So Bad

Wait, I take it back. I’m struggling to like anything about this trailer. Yes, MGS: Rising was ditched by Kojima Productions and picked up by Platinum Games for development as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and it’s never been the same but this trailer just does the exact opposite of sell the game. It’s cheesy, with bad music and an attempt to seem intelligent by just flashing a ton of political crap across the screen. There’s even a bad narrator to go along with it. When we see some gameplay though, it’s rather messy.

After that impartial intro, you’re probably itching to see the trailer but seriously watch it anyway. I don’t like it at all but then I’m a strange guy. You might like it. For what it’s worth, the trailer does fill in some backstory of what happens to Raiden after MGS 4.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is due out in early 2013.

This is a crap MGS game but just imagine if they made a Star Wars game just like this but with the addition of force powers obviously. This is what SW: TFU should’ve been like.

This is so weird, because it looks absolutely retarded and cool at the same time. Platinum Games haven’t made a bad game yet, and they were the guys responsible for Vanquish and Bayonetta, so I’ll keep an eye on this game, but not include it as part of MGS.

yeah. When you look at it from a Metal Gear perspective, it makes you want to cry because it isnt metal gear. but if you regarded as a game, purely on its on, it sort of fulfills its objective of hack and slash. Cyborg Ninja Gaiden?

Yeah, they said it takes place after MGS4 but it’s not part of the main story, so I’m alright with that. I will always prefer the old look and idea of this game, and be upset that we didn’t get that, but Platinum Games have a good track record and the game looks fun, so since it’s not canonically part of MGS and it’s classified as a spin off, I’m just going to treat it as a hack & slash game and look at the gameplay.
