Hitman Dev’s Next AAA Project Features ‘In-game Economy & Monetization’

IO Interactive, the developer of Hitman: Absolution, is making a triple A game that hasn’t been announced yet, but according to a recent job-listing the project may feature micro-transactions and an MMO-style economy.

“Io Interactive is currently looking for a full-time Monetization Expert to join an unannounced AAA game project,” reads the ad, which was posted last month.

The responsibilities of the role include “collaborating with game designers directing and developing the in-game economy and monetization system for the project while working closely together with finance, brand/marketing/sales, and affiliated teams,” explains the ad.

Io wants the hired candidate to “set new standards for entertainment in games while keeping it a good business,” by developing “new monetization methods early in game development”, and tweaking the game after its launch.

Want to venture a guess as to what this secret project is? I don’t really have any guesses of my own, but I just hope to God that it’s not Kane & Lynch 3. Number two was horrific.
