Video Game Community Blamed For New Jersey Bombings
Doesn’t it just warm your heart when video games are mentioned in mainstream news? Although your blood boils just as quickly when you find out that they’re just saying bad things about our precious games. This time, it’s not so much the games that are being blamed but us as gamers. Rather, a certain video game community is being blamed for the bombing of a house in New Jersey.
Two pipe bombs were thrown into a house in Monroe, New Jersey, and a third went in just as police arrived on the scene. The bombs exploded but fortunately no one was harmed.
“…we hid in the closet because then we heard another explosion”, Jeanne Bezerra, one of the victims, told CBS. “While we were on the phone with 911 the fire alarms went off and the emergency person was telling us to leave the house, but we said we think we’re under attack, and we’re afraid if we leave the house we are going to get shot.”
Police arrested three men – Michael and Jonathan Cavallo, and Matt Debski – after finding a further 8 pipe bombs and the trio are facing 21 charges apiece.
The Bezerra family believe that the attack was motivated by “their oldest son’s involvement in a video game community.” Just what kind of community this guy is a part of remains to be seen but I guess it can only in the USA that this sort of dangerously stupid shit happens. He must have messed with the wrong internet tough guys.
