Crysis 3 Will Melt Your PC With “Top Secret Toad Technology”

Yes, you read that correctly. Top Secret Toad Technology. Think I’m crazy? Well blame Crytek for labeling their new visual enhancements to the CryEngine 3 with stupid as shit names like “Toad Tech”.

It’s no secret that I’m not all that excited about Crysis 3 on PC, considering what a fucking mess the previous one was. How does a developer who began on PC end up releasing a visually stunning game without DX11 support from day one? Worse yet, how does said developer make PC gamers wait a whole six months before they add DX11 support? So yeah, concerning Crysis 2 on PC, fuck you Crytek.

Moving on, the above video is taken from what can only be PC footage of Crysis 3, which shows off some of the finer details hidden in CryEngine 3. It’s visually stunning, especially all that small tessellation work, and I will enjoy putting my PC through its paces to run Crysis 3 at its maximum. That is if it ships with DX11 this time.

As for the actual gameplay? Pew pew, power throw, slide on the ground like a boss and win. Yeah, not as excited.

    Crytek forgot how to make good games, and unbelievable graphics, after Crysis 1. It’s a shame.

    One thing’s for sure… Frostbite 2.0 Engine still has a long way to go before it catches the CryEngine.
