eGamer Podcast #14

Controversy! Of the controversial kind.

That’s what you can expect in ostensibly extensive helpings this time around, right from the start.

In this week’s podcast, Dean undergoes what can only be described as a screaming session meets a bitch fit, Azhar still loves Sony long time, Adam perfects the sneeze-laugh or ‘snaugh’, AG hates on Grand Theft Auto IV, Cavie (thinks he) is hailed as the constipated voice of the gaming industry, Richard stops by for a cameo appearance and Alessandro is a simple man.

We talked about quite a bit this week with controversy, stereotyping and all sorts of prejudice interspersed with such topics as EA’s comments on female representation in FIFA, Ubisoft’s alleged PC piracy statistics, the dumb ideas Sony’s been coming up with, the indie-centric A MAZE. Festival, MainGaming’s recent match-fixing scandal and the ever-popular League of Legends versus Dota debate.

As far as games themselves go, we talked about Guild Wars 2, Counter SuckStrike: Global Offensive, Sleeping Dogs, Darksiders II, Remember Me, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron as well as Mass Effect 3′s upcoming Leviathan DLC.

Finally we answered your questions. All two of them.

    Also, at about 74 minutes when you were all going YOLO, swag and cray cray, I was sharpening a knife for rAge. But I’ll find you guys a dealer here; so you don’t have another reason to be arrested on the plane. :P

    Lastly, it’s now gone from sounding like a savage preschool after the leadout to sounding like a bunch of teenagers furiously masturbating to the sound of Cavie. No guys, just no.

      There’s too much to talk about if we do it once a month. Questions aren’t that important, IMO.

      Having a podcast once a month will cause it to suffer from the same fate that gaming magazines do. There’s far too much to cover, and in the end we’ll just summarise over the month’s happenings rather than have a proper discussion about the important things. Secondly, we’ll just be outdated. People won’t be as interested in things that came out at the beginning of a month or early in it.

      We don’t want our podcasts to become like Harry Potter 6 – as in here are the month’s highlights. Especially in month’s like November, the big releases, we need two a month.
