Has Sony Given Up On The Last Guardian?

The Last Guardian is one of many games that have been in a state of limbo for a while now. We know it exists and people have certainly been wowed by its emphasis on character relationships but we’re just not sure whether it’s even still in development. As far as most of the world is concerned, the game might as well not exist because we honestly have no idea what stage of development it’s in or even if Sony is in any rush to make it.

What’s worrying is that it appears as if Sony has abandoned its ‘The Last Guardian’ trademark in the US for reasons unknown. It’s anyone’s guess what this means and it could certainly be anything from rebranding the game to saving it for next-gen to scrapping the project entirely. We can only hope that this is fake or something that Sony will come out and explain away. the alleged proof is right here but it’s authenticity is anyone’s guess until Sony comes out with a statement.

The last we heard of TLG is that Sony was bringing in some western developers to assist Team ICO with development but if they went through all the trouble of getting some extra hands, where is the game and why are we getting rumours such as these?
