What’s The Most Satisfying Game To Play?

What’s The Most Satisfying Game To Play?

Satisfaction: the fulfillment of your wishes, expectations, needs, and/or the pleasure derived from this. Now before you get excited, this isn’t from you sexing your games, but rather them sexing you.

Achievement whores will play games until they’ve reached maximum score, where after this they would have reached satisfaction. They’ve then “completed” the game, everything is done and they’re happy. However, not all games regardless of achievements can be satisfying. Because they’re absolutely obsessed with finishing games 100%, they can sometimes reach utter frustration where it leaves them less than satisfied, and rather annoyed.

Satisfaction is quite complex. There’s a lot to it. It’s more than just happiness, in fact, its more than a feeling. It’s being more than content.

Games can offer lots of satisfaction. Depending on the type of gamer you are, and the type of games you play, anything can satisfy anyone. If you’re an FPS freak, you might be easily satisfied by topping the scoreboard three maps in a row, where if you’re an RPG fan, you might find it really pleasurable to simply run around and do various quests collecting valuable items.

Once you’ve finished playing the game, you feel that you’re better at something or than someone else. You’re satisfied because the game has made you feel special and it curbed your discomfort, whatever that might be. If it’s a new game, the discomfort could be anxiety that the game is as good as you hope. When it is, you’re satisfied and the anxiety is replaced with pleasure.

For me, puzzle games are really satisfying. Well, that’s if the puzzle is challenging enough. It’s often fun to be tested, where once you pass, you feel good.

What satisfies you?

I likes me a good challenge, which is why Dragon’s Dogma on the first playthrough was highly enjoyable for me.

Good picture because apparently, Dota 2 is the game I find most satisfying. It’s so cathartic playing Dota sometimes. Apart from that, maybe Skyrim in second place? That was an experience like no other, the first time around.

NHL – the best sports franchise. No two matches are the same thanks to AI learning. Also the controls are deep and allow for a lot of creativity.

Other games such as Mass Effect and Dragon Age keep me satisfied by their incredible story lines, deep characters and the ability to choose your own destiny.

Dota / Dota 2 gives an adrenaline rush like no other game.
As for most satisfying, definitely Braid. Its been more than a year since I finished it and I still think about it all the time.

RPGs are my go-to games for satisfaction.

Having recently finished Prototype 2, I realized I wasn’t really satisfied when I finished the game. Sure it was fun, but it didn’t invoke any deeper feelings. Whereas now that I started Dragon Age 2, I’m loving it to bits and it stirs up a much stronger feeling of enjoyment.
