Activision Revokes Black Ops II Pre-Order Incentive

Activision Revokes Black Ops II Pre-Order Incentive

Rememebr when Activision promised players that if they pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops II they would receive a code for one of the most popular multiplayer maps, Nuketown 2025? Yeah so do I, and it was great to see the code supplied inside the game box, even though it was supposedly for pre-orders. Even weirder than that, Activision has now pulled the map off 24/7 servers entirely, claiming that it was only part of the Double XP weekend that took place this last weekend.

The sudden bad news was tweeted by Treyarch game design director David Vonderhaar:

Double XP weekend is official over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don’t kill the messenger. +

That’s not to say you can’t still access the map. Although the map has disappeared from 24/7 server, you can still create custom games in Nuketown 2025. However, there’s been no indication as to whether Nuketown 2025 will be intergrated into main playlists or not, making this one hell of a shallow pre-order incentive. Way to go Treyarch and Activision.

Hey hey Hey hey hey hey hold on there..its not like you cant play the map anymore and anyways double xp was available to people who downloaded the map it makes sense why it wont be on any main playlist.. its just like those Elite playlists its no biggie and there are better maps than Nuketown..

    • Alessandro Barbosa

I know it’s still available, but they removed it from ranked servers, so you can only play custom games on the map, like I said :P

    • Pea_Peralta

Like i said Barbosa its no big deal if people miss it soo much they will bring  it back and then Nuketown will end up being another Terminal……

    • Michael Matusowsky

Sure, they’ll bring it back at a cost of $9.99.

    • Pea_Peralta

      Seriously Michael…seriously..D:

    • CataclysmicDawn

You can’t justify this though. Nuketown is a fan favourite, and they’re removing this.

Hitman’s removal of an online pass was a popular thing because no one likes an online pass, removing Nuketown from online is pretty much a slap to the face of Black Ops fans.

      Hell, even I like Nuketown.

  • Pea_Peralta

Holy Jebediah Michael how do you comment so fast its inhuman..D:
