Journey Currently Leading The Game Developers Choice Awards Nominations

Journey Currently Leading The Game Developers Choice Awards Nominations

Things have been going great for thatgamecompany’s incredible PlayStation Network title, Journey. Earlier this month we learned that it was leading the D.I.C.E. Awards with 11 nominations, and now the finalists for the 13th annual Game Developers Choice Awards have been announced.

The games in this list were chosen through voting that was open to games industry professionals, and Journey is leading the nominations list by featuring in six categories.

Other notable titles include Dishonored, which has been nominated in four categories, and The Walking Dead, which got three. Assassin’s Creed III, Halo 4, The Unfinished Swan and FTL: Faster Than Light are all titles that also received multiple nominations.

The awards will be given out at an event on March 27 during GDC. The winners of each category will be chosen by the International Choice Awards Network, which is an invitation-only group of people that is made up of leading game creators.

Also on the agenda is the first-ever Audience Award, open to all finalists, which will begin an online voting process in mid-February, and a number of special award categories, such as Pioneer, Ambassador and Lifetime Achievement, will be announced soon.

These awards seem legit. It’s like all the right games got nominated in all the right categories. This is one of the few award nominations I completely agree with. I can’t what to see who walks a way with what.

Best debut should definitely go to Fireproof Games. Their iOS game The Room was quite a good puzzle game. Looking forward to their sequel. One of the legit really good puzzle games out there.

The Room is easily one of the best mobile games out there :D But still Humble Hearts should win best debut, because Dust is just mind blowing :P
