The first Left 4 Dead 2 expansion is on its way, and it should arrive this week sometime. New games modes for the expansion include something called “Mutations” and it requires players to play through various Mutations to secure the Mutant Overlord achievement.

Common Sense Media aims to “improve the media and entertainment lives of kids and families” in a manner that not only offends us, but also confuses us. The media company released a list of games which might be unsuitable for kids, where they then offered an alternative solution which might be suitable for kids. What ever happened to games aren’t suitable for kids? It’s just a matter of time before all games are suitable for kids.

The “10 Cool Games That Are Uncool for Kids (and 10 Alternatives)” sounds like a cunning plan, but is it really? For instance, just look at the list below and tell us that you couldn’t giggle.

Their list pretty much replaces all top rated games with pre-July 2009 releases, or stupid games. Swapping games like GTA for “good-guy” games like COP or Batman? Let’s get real. Your kid wants to steal cars and beat up hookers, don’t deprive him.

Moreover it feels as if the company is not only replacing top-rated games, but also replacing top game play and new game developments.

We now feel that it is our duty to also help parents out. We’ll start with top parenting advice.

Don’t have kids — But if you do, unfortunately, have children then then follow the next tip.

If kids don’t get what they want they will moan, and you will land up buying two games. Kids know what they want.

For a parent’s comparison we’ve also released our own table with our own game replacements.

We’d like to point out that our list doesn’t replace new games with old games. Modern Warfare 2 for Bad Company 1? Borderlands being replaced by inFAMOUS, after Borderlands scored better? Does Common Sense Media want children to be teased at school?

On a side note, we’d like to add that games do have ESRB ratings, and parents should use this at their discretion. However, if you feel that your child is better than a rating, that’s cool with us.

Valve has announced that their Left 4 Dead 2 game has received four times the amount of pre-orders when compared to the original game. Despite all comments which stated that the next set of survivors cannot live up to the first, buyers are still really interested in giving them a chance.

The videos, and recently released demo, have definitely boosted pre-order numbers as Valve’s Chet Faliszek says “As we get closer to launch we see the reaction to the demo, pre-orders are four times what Left 4 Dead 1 was, people’s excitement, the boycott itself and how it’s changed… I think people are just excited now,”

Obviously we’re excited.. It’s all about blowing faces off!

Xbox Gold subscribers, as well as PC owners are able to download the Left 4 Dead 2 demo. The file is 2gb bit, and it won’t scare you as much as a gore-less Australian girl version would. The demo sees The Parish set in New Orleans’ where players will kick ass and chew bubble-gum.

L4D2 features infected and outrageously outnumbered battles which occur throughout the game. There is apparently a better story line in this game when compared to the first one. Please, remember to shoot the face, arms and of course anything else that will make the zombies bleed. In other words, tear those bitches apart.

Left 4 Dead 2 will be released during November.

After viewing the extended Left 4 Dead 2 trailer we were pretty excited about the new game. While we’re used to living in a country with questionable crime and murder rates, the ‘men‘ (this is questionable) down in Australia aren’t used to seeing brains splattering all over.

This actually makes us laugh and then pull a little spiteful grin as L4D2 Australia Girl Edition will be rated for fifteen-year-olds, or something. The game which is known for zombie splattering, will have no splattering when on sale down under. What a joke, seriously.

While it’s actually difficult to explain how bad this edit is, we’ve come across a video that will actually make you sick, due to lack of gore. The video is based on the L4D2 Girl version, oh we mean Australia again, sorry.

The short clip sees most of the blood removed, where there are a few stains here and there. The bodies on the ground disappear, while the limbs never fly off the bodies. What a shame, what a waste.

In fact, this game is less violent then Duke Nukem or something.

And Australia wonder why they get mocked by other countries..

Holy fuuuuuu! An extended trailer for Left 4 Dead 2 has been leaked onto the interwebz. Woah, all we can say is: absolutely awesome. There are actually no other words to really describe the thrill of the game.

When the video first started playing it was almost so if it was a real movie, where the hill-billy-guy, Ellis, was just excited to ‘kill all sons a bitches’. Apparently Ellis is a mechanic, but we seem to think otherwise, unless of course he fixes cars underneath the bridge that he likes to call home.

Other characters include Coach, a chocolate eating musketeer a high school football coach, Rochelle, a news reporter and Nick the gambler -slash- conman.

Anyway, back to the video.

The video features short pieces of infected and outrageously outnumbered battles which occur throughout the game. There is apparently a better story line in this game when compared to the first one. The movie, er trailer, feels like an introduction video but it goes slightly further than the normal video would and this kind of hints towards what we said earlier, an extended trailer.

Just to end off, I’d like to quote BedLamp with something that pretty much sums up all motivation to get L4D 2: “you cant go wrong with killing piles of zombies.” ‘Nuff said. Get the game in late November.
